About Me

At the end of 2020, after twenty years of writing literary fiction without publishing, I quit to regroup and take stock of where I’d been and consider what my next steps could be.

Freeing myself from the pressures and expectations of writing to get published, I immediately rediscovered my love of creating by taking the time to journal, paint, and play music.

I realized I hadn’t lost the fire in belly because it was always there, waiting for me.

I took care of my mind with therapy and my body with yoga and meditation; and struggling to find an answer to this midlife crisis, I researched voraciously about the inner workings of the brain and worked on my habits.

This process of taking time out on my own to create and journal has not only made me realize that I have plenty of time, possibilities, and ideas as a creative midlife man but also made me feel relaxed and confident enough to return to my writing (I have since published).

That’s why I started The Creative Midlife Man
